The UCLA Asia Pacific Center is pleased to announce the 2025 International Symposium on Global Chinese Philanthropy (GCP), which aims to promote global philanthropy research, explore and disseminate innovative models of philanthropy, and highlight the contributions of overseas Chinese and Chinese diasporas, while enhancing societal awareness, understanding, and participation in charitable causes and volunteering services. Riding on the pivotal moment of Zhejiang’s high-quality development and the construction of a demonstration zone for common prosperity, the symposium seeks to contribute Chinese wisdom and Zhejiang solutions to advancing social equality and narrowing the "three gaps" (wealth, regional, and urban-rural disparities) through philanthropic initiatives.
We sincerely invite scholars and professionals in philanthropy to submit original research papers or investigative reports. Special emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary studies that combine quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as research that integrates Chinese philanthropy with broader historical, political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental themes. Together, we aim to drive theoretical and practical innovation in global philanthropy.
This event is made possible through the generous support of the Cyrus Tang Foundation and Long Family Foundation.
